I have special interest in epidemiology and control of Neglected Tropical Diseases. These include spatial disease mapping, monitoring and evaluation of intervention and control program as well as implementation and Health system research necessary for public health and disease control.

I am a health and environmental scientist, focused on using data to design, implement and evaluate interventions for infectious disease control. My current research examines the social and environmental determinants of infectious disease, with a focus on vector- and water-borne pathogens.

I am a researcher with over 28 years experience on Neglected Tropical Diseases. I love innovations and thorough work. I enjoy sharing my experience and encouraging upcoming researchers to excel in their chosen areas of expertise. I work with the Nigerian Institute of Medical Research where there are a number of facilities that could facilitate research.

Adedayo Akande (PhD, FCVSN), a female veterinarian and Parasitologist is enthusiastic about studies that involves tropical diseases and she is always ready to mentor younger ones that are not aware of the diversified abundance of diseases and pathogens that can be studied in the tropics. She is more at home with studies at the animal-human-environment interface which is the new order in the study of pathogens and diseases.
