Research mentorship is programmed to take place at tertiary education level, and remains critical to the development of the next generation of scientists that will take over from the older and retiring ones. However, bottlenecks such as tuition fees, entry examinations and physical distance still limits access and interactions between mentors and mentees.

The Top-Bottom Open Mentorship (T-BOM) Model therefore seeks to eliminate barriers of access to research mentorship by establishing a virtual and interacting model to bridge existing gaps, promote behavioral change between both parties, and devise innovative strategies of assessing and rewarding mentors.

Mentors are tough to meet. We are eliminating barriers such as tuition fees, excellent grades, physical distance for mentees. Mentors and mentee can meet on TBOM web-based platform at no cost, from anywhere in the world with a smartphone and internet service. (www.tbommodel.com).
Promoting mentor-mentee interaction

We have user-friendly and dynamic dashboards to hosts the profiles of experienced mentors who are ready to provide free mentorship to prospective mentees anywhere in the world.
Encouraging a democratic ecosystem in mentorship

We have designed algorithms to rate user’s satisfaction and performance. Mentees’ can rate mentors’ and help shape a democratic ecosystem of mentoring with us
Rewarding mentors

We included an innovative mentorship index for all mentors. Mentors with high mentorship index stand the chance of access to opportunities like mentorship grants, travel awards and some of our cool gift items as they become available.
